Keep it simple, I want to convert those ugly bulky heavy bolters into nice 3 barreled miniguns, slung from the hip instead of them hanging out in front of the marine like idiots.
any one seen anything like this done before? or have hints on how it can be done I'd love to hear it, and just for extra clarification, I want the heavy bolter to face FOWARD of the marine, not sideways, similar to an autocannon.
Thanks in advanced!
I'd say look no further than the terminator assault cannons...
modify them in whichever way suits your needs...
But that is requiring of the monies.
surely there must be a way to pull it off without resorting to monies, as in these hard economical times, it is hard to come by, and I love the heavy bolters, cept their stupid arm position.
I suppose there is the cost involved getting extra bits...
You would have to do a fair bit of chopping i suppose...maybe adjusting the arm positions...I'll have a think when i'm home later and have a play around with some ideas...that's about all i can suggest, other than trawling a bits site or maybe trying to swap something on something...
i don't have access to a camera (more due to laziness about importing pictures than actual lack of camera lol) but I converted a bunch of burst cannons into heavy bolters for my guard. I just cut off the end of the cannon where there is an indent between the main gun and the very back end) and cut out a lasgun (in this case you could use a bolter) just in front of the grip then green stuffed it together. Turned out nice, I added a strap and then a chain feed and looks like a minigun which I think is perfectly representable of a heavy bolter.
I know its 4 barrels instead of three but a bunch of burst cannons shouldn't be hard to come buy if you have a tau friend. Most tau players make seldom uses of their battlesuit burstcannons (don't use the vehicle one, its too large) and will probably give up/sell/trade a few
I don't know any tau players YET, but I think just some plasticard rods will do fine, a burst cannon has a very large circumference which I'm not fond of, I prefer really tight barrel formationso n my miniguns, I think it looks way more mean.
The main issue is finding arms that will work, or getting them to stick to the marine facing out instead of side on, I have no problems with my ability to convert the heavy bolters.
But thanks guys!
