im attempting to do the entire ultramarines chapter, with much of the 1st and tenth companies complete, and the entire 3rd done. i also have captains for 3 other companies.. ok to my idea:::
im wanting to make it easily distinguishable between companies for ease of knowing whats what on the field, and so i dont get bored with painting the same thing a thousand times.
so far my 1st and 3rd are painted UM blue with edging in ice blue (check my project log in my signiature i think theres a couple in there)
my plans for others are:
2nd and 10th: a darker blue (regal blue or something) with UM blue edging to make them darker than the 1st and 3rd.
5th: chaos black with regal blue edging for something completely different, makes them really dark lol
and im stuck there.. the only other ones i can really think of doing at the moment is the 9th company where it could be all ice blue..
does anyone have any ideas for how i could do them? or critisicm on the ideas already stated?
sorry should have been a bit clearer, they have the shoulder guard edgings in the colours that are shown in the codex, but i just want to make the rest of the models different.. by edgings i actuallu meant highlighting
sorry about that
Shouldn't the first have white helmets and veteran markings and the tenth be all scouts?
Washing the armour with the colour of the shoulder edge should give a subtle effect that helps to tell them appart but if you do that then don't over-do it.
You could always use different colour boltguns too- red and black most obviously.
Up, up and away!
I think you should just have the armour painted the same and have different colour shoulder pads and helmets.
