So here's some WIP's of my Chaos Baneblade.
I couldn't resist the urge to make one of these bad boys for the dark legions,
however I couldn't decide which Chaos lord to make it for since I currently play
Nurgle and Slaanesh. So I opted to go with a Chaos undivided tank.
I magnetized the main weapons as well as the Las and Bolter turrets.
I have plans to eventually make an alternate turret that has an inferno cannon on it,
using a plaugereaper profile in game. For this reason I also magnetized the fuel drums
(so I could switch out for larger fuel drums for the inferno cannon) and the lord in the
hatch so I can use him on both turrets.
I still have some gaps to fill, some details and some corruption to add.
Let me know what you guys think.
Excellent plasticard work you got going on...but I feel like more mutations should be added to the vehicle. Also, you may want to consider turning the barrel of the main cannon into an open dragon mouth or something (similiar to that of the bolters)
Thanks for the compliments!
I wanted this tank to have more corrosion and decay rather than mutations.
More like an ancient tank that fell into disrepair rather than an evil tank thats alive.
The main battle cannon, which I don't have a pic of, actually has the dragon head from the defiler on it. These pics were taken with the hellfire cannon on instead, I magnetized both cannons so I can swap.
Well, in a word, b'dass. I like what you've done with the gargoyle heads and the plasticard - very nice work.
I would reccomend going absolutely mental on trophies, skulls on chains, possibly an unfortunate Guardsman being dragged behind on a big hook, that kind of thing. Of course, that may not be the look you're going for - but I for one would be very impressed by it!
Excellent work and rep for you.
EDIT: You might also want to cover/file off/defile the Adeptus Mechanicus shrine at the back - just a thought!
I think your Chaos Baneblade is good. I like all the bits you have added to it and I think they work well to make it chaotic. You said you wanted it to look ancient and corroded. You can try using plastic glue for that. Get an clean/old dishrag. Now drip a few drops of plastic glue onto part of the tank. Use the dishrag to dab at the glue. The plastic glue will slightly dissolve the plastic of the tank and as you dab it around you will create a rough and aged look. Once it is dry you will find that spot is rougher feeling and looking.
Thats a really good idea about the glue, I should go get a wire brush.
I was also going to sparringly use a dremel wire brush bit along the bottom of the treads.
You're totally right about the shrine in the back, I need to come up with something for that.
I don't want to block it off completely, probably just twist it, corrupt it somehow, like the Dark Mechanicus. The Dark Angel looking saint thing needs to go for sure.
Okay update time:
I totally defiled the Mechanicus shrine. I wanted to keep the mechanicus skull, since some of them sided with Horus during the Heresy.
I added some serious weathering to the chaos trim and to the undersides of the tank.
Mainly cutting away at it with an exto-knife and using a dremel wire brush bit, then smoothing over the roughness with plastic weld.
I added my Daisy Chain For Satan under the spiky front ram thing.
Everyone got a lil love here. Marine, Sisters Of Battle, Eldar, Civilians, etc.
I also included a pic of the turret with it's alternate main weapon.
Now that is one mother of a chaos god of a baneblade!! This, IMO, is the best defiled baneblade I've seen!!
You're giving me so, so much inspiration for my yet to become real Iron Warriors baneblade.
*Worships lots* Rep coming your way!
Looking good, I like how you are giving full attention to the small details, too many chaos baneblade are just thrown togetehr and go OTT with chaos mutations and such.
I have to say that is one mean looking banablade!! Im liking the plasticard and the dragon headed guns, but i have to say perhaps a few more spikey bits and trophy rocks, after all, with chaos you cant have enough spikes! But hey, feel free to ignore me, it will look brilliant with or without my sugestions, cant wait to see it painted.
