Just recieved this in the mail Got it off eBay - GW no longer produce/bits-order half the parts. He's got a Powerfist w/ Digital Weapons and a Powersword. I'm going to start painting it soon but it's my first time painting such a large scale model, are there any differences or things to remember when doing so?
Pics! (Soon to be updated)
Thanks for any advice!

Ah, nice find there mate How much was he?
£13.70 with P+P
Still debating colours.
Can't wait to see it painted! But man, those things are more than twice the size of 40k/fantasy scale. I kinda thought they'd be quite a bit smaller!
How dare you speak out against LO! I shall beat you with a giant inflatable duck and then ban you to the lowest level of hell! ~Karmoon

You could always go normal Death Watch colours?
Or if you have your own Chapter he could be a marine who had once served with the DW?
He'll have served in the Deathwatch. My current scheme is very dark grey + bone but i'm thinking of alternatives too.
He's two and a half 40k Space Marines tall, in his current pose.
Nice. Well, either way I look forward to seeing it painted mate
He's got a massive space on his right shoulder so I might do a transfer - probably a right-way up ultramarine sign (Ω), like my old Space Marines. Also toying with other ideas.
As for colour schemes.. grey seems likely. If I get him finished by sunday, he might be my GD entry - although I doubt he will be. Won't win anything, but would be cool.
EDIT: Just wandered, does a GD mini have to be 100% created by you - from the box? Cause I didn't assemble it, but there's nothing too major about the conversion. Not that it really matters, because he won't be finished

Speaking of the Omaga sign, have you read Brothers of the Snake by Dan Abnett.
Awesome book with an awesome chapter. they are greyish silver I believe, and have a similar sort of symbol, all be it a two headed snake.
Might be something to look into.
I don't think it has to be made by you... though any model work done to it, and of course the painting as to have been.
TBH, Im not sure as I've never entered it, so it might be something to check out in any GD infomation packets. Or it might even been on the GW website.
