Im starting a new force of roughly 3000 points and have chosen to go with Eldar. Rather than go with yet another craftworld ive decided to make them rednecks, I mean exodites. I apologize for the poor pics, my camera has packed in and ive had to use my mobile.
First up the Farseer. He is the oldest eldar on the planet, rumours suggest he was alive during the time of the fall. His familiar, a baby dragon accompanies him at all times and the hourglass he holds contains the remains of crushes spirit stones from thousands of the eldar race.
Next the 'Falcon' One of the many great dragons hearded by the exodites and trained for war. The turret is mounted to its saddle and houses the pulse laser, scatter laser and twin shuriken cannons.
The 'Shining Spears' use young dragons as steeds when they go to war. Eventually these will become great flying beasts like that of the falcon.
A small selection of the 18 guardians ive assembled for this force. The exodite guardians are the main hunters/herders of the craftworld. Spending their days in the forests working hard unlike the artists and poets of their craftworld cousins.
The final two guardians are mounted on the same base as the 'heavy weapon platforms' as if they go, the weapon goes too. The platforms are carried by young dragons who will become accustomed to the heavy weaponry so that one day they may carry the great fire prism weaponry.
Hope you like, as always comments and criticism is welcomed.
wow, your dudes are absolutly awsome I love the fluff and the conversions.
the Idea of using dragons would never have popped into mind yet it seems to fit the eldar so nicely, and the guardians are cool aswell I can't wait to see what other conversions are coming up.

Oh yes, they are very cool. You told me you were going to do Exodites. I like how you have mixed parts from Eldar and Elf ranges to cook these models up. The fluff is good too. I think it helps to add a good sense of where these models are coming from and why they look the way they do. The Farseer looks good. I think that the idea of the hourglass is cool, it gives him character. The Dragon looks like an ass-wopper. Are you going to show a way that the Dragon/Falcon can transport people or is it a case of people hop onto it's back.
I think the Guardians are interesting and seem to have a lot of stuff with them. The different bodies used on them is good. The Shining spears are good looking, the new Cold ones are fine models. I think I do like the heavy weapon platform a lot. I think it almost looks like a small scene with the Dragon and the Elf type beside it on the base together. Very good work, you will have to show us more.
Thanks guys, glad you like them The heavy weapons platform, the guardians both have outstretched arms, this is because they will be holding reigns/firing studs once I get some more procreate putty.
The transport capacity of the falcon. I think he already looks a little cluttered so Im going to either leave him or add some simple leather loops for people to hang onto.
Ive got more big plans too so stay tuned. Jetbikes and vypers are next
I think the paint job on that Cold one is good. It's scales look very cool and the new Cold ones are cool. I like how you have painted the Cold one to have a few different coloured scales in there. It will be cool to see how it turns out with the big gun painted, keep up the good work. Are you going to do all of your reptiles the same colour or are some of them going to have different colours from each other?
First off, love the concept.
If you ever played or saw the intro to Dungeon Siege 2 the dragon transports in there are an interesting idea. Basically, a dragon in flight carrying a long box full of men in its claws.
Agreed that overcluttering a model isnt a good idea though. Nice paining on the first cold one too.
The name refers to facial hair, not playing style.Originally Posted by A news vendor's stand, London, June 1940
@BW: Thats a great idea, I might have a crack at that when I come to the wave serpent. Thanks.
@Leech: Cheers dude, the different coloured scales are an idea taken from my bearded dragon. As he starts to shed, his scales darken, then when the skin comes off he's really brightly coloured. Obviously a cold one is to big to shed, but im sure individual scales would probably renew themselves. Well, mine do anyway! As for the colours, the cold ones will all be green, one is a really bright green compared to the others and the exarchs on is really dark, just to add a bit of variation. The falcon/dragon will be a different colour, havnt decided what yet, and ive another big dragon that will probably be yet another colour! Ill explain the colour differences as male and female dragons
Ah, with the colours it's a boy girl thing. Have you thought about Dark Elf corsairs? They have scaly cloaks and they look fairly good. You could mix them up with Wood Elf bits to make them fit in more. They Could also be handy as some kind of shooty unit. To my knowledge the Eldar have mobs of different shooty types. I will be intersted to see what other type of units you use. Things like Fire dragons and Striking scorpions would be interesting to see. That is unless you are doing everything as being a huge lizard or hanging with a huge lizard.

Im using cold ones as shining spears and weapon platforms. The dark elf bits that came with the cold ones have been shared out amongst the various units ive got so far. I want almost every miniature to be individual and have their own 'personality'.
The different aspects may be harder as they are metal mini's and usually come in one part. Ill worry about them when I come to them! For now, ive nearly finished the first 5 cold ones. Not the riders or weapons, just the lizards, ill post a pic of them once they are done and then get started on the riders.
