Vulkan for 5th Edition Space Marines

I'm going to convert Vulkan for my new marines list. I was thinking get the space marine commander box set and the nemesis force weapon of a grey knight terminator (the spear) and the incinerator hand and then use some green stuff. Anyone have some better ideas for him?

Hmmm Deathwing...or...Grimmnar's Wolf Guard Termies...I think I'll be depressed rather then Barbaric. Deathwing!

    All credit to the modeller.

    Hope it helps for ideas.

Just that picture is helpful. I got a temporary conversion right now. Its a space marine with a spear from the Dire Avengers box and a terminator p. fist thats until I get what I wanted.

Hmmm, that model is quiet nice. I think the flamer and the thing behind his head need to be reworked.

If I were to make one myself I go for a longer head on the relic blade and intergrate the heavy flamer into the tip underneath or on either side. If you want to go the way of the wrist mounted flamer Id say using flamer tanks on the back pack would be the best way about it.

I think fluff-wise the flamer and spear are two quite seperate objects. Nice idea otherwise.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!

    Forge Father

There is a picture of him in the new space marine codex which is very detailed, and his armour and helmet is similar if not the same as that of a techmarine, so i used a techmarine as a base, filing and clipping off the tech symbols and replacing them with salamander ones, i used the back pack from the plastic SM commander and the nemesis force weapon off a grey knight, i then took a chain fist and cut the chain off and replaced it with a flamer nozzle though i was considering making one similar to huron's hand flamer with the flamer in the centre of a powerfist/talon.

Is it Vulkan or Tu'Shan? Vulkan is the Primarch of teh Sallies.

That model looks like a very nice Tu'Shan, though a bit more work on the helmet would be nice, and some scroll-work of Salamanders on teh armour

    easy mistake to make

Vulkan H'estan is the new special character, he is the forge father of the salamanders, which means he takes on the name of the primarch and seaches for a number of relics in his name which once found will signal the return of the primarch.....

    40k fluff rocks..i loves it
