I am finally making some progress on my Iron Warrior Daemon Prince, and he is now at the stage where I can start on the wings. I intend to scratch-build mechanical wings from plasticard, attached to a semi-organic engine growing from his back.
Anyway the point is, I am not sure what a good wing size would be. The model is basically the standard 40k Prince with an altered pose, which stands slightly taller than the original. I want the wings to be spread, and I'm not sure what would be over the top.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Have you seen the "Dark Pegasus Wings"? To me, those are the perfect size for the standard DP model. I don't have exact measurements; if I can measure it later I'll get back to you.

The ought to be a decent set of wings for a daemon prince: HIGH ELF DRAGON WINGS - BITS AND KITS UK - Detailed item view
So yeah, it even says it'd ideal for daemon princes... When it comes to making my uber lord of metal i will be using these!
You could always compare your scratch built wings to pre-existing ones. I found the Bloodthirster's to be a perfect size. I'm workin on a Deamon Prince just now too, and the wings were the first things i glued to him. On my last one I used plastic dragon wings but I didn't like the look of them very much.
I'm kind of stuck with the size of the weapons I'm giving him. A spiky ball and chain on the right hand, and a HUGE cleaver on a staff held behind him in the other. But just don't know what would look stupid or not. Have you got any wings lying around? 'Cause I could measure mine if you want??
When you come to the engine, would you make it yourself out of plasticard like?? I've never tried making anything liek that with Plasticard to be honest..
