Hey guys, what would you do to make swamp like bases for models??
put waves/ripples with green stuff and put branches sticking out and paint it black/greenish

Add small sticks and grass sticking out of the base, cover the whole thing with colour tinted PVA.
Oh and to make it more realistic, cut the legs of the models... that way it looks like they are submerged in the water.

I was going to base my eldar alaitoc in swamps, I came to figure cut the models to about knee high glueing them to the base. paint the model. paint the base the color you want the water to be. Mix some "realistic water" and some light green/watered down ink, and a little light brown/watered down ink to the "realistic water". Put the model on some paper or something and pore the inked "realistic water on the base. you can put a wall of tape around the base so the water looks thicker before pouring in the water affect. Stick some long grass in for a more swampy affect and some moss look useing flock. this should make your guys look like they're wadeing threw knee high deep swamps. ^_^
* Realistic water is found at any hobby store that sells train stuff... it's made by Woodland scenics.
Tomb Kings, Marines, Eldar
what i would do is paint the base scorched brown then drybrush it with bestial brown then cover it with a thin layer of PVA glue wait for it to dry then drybrush over it with catachan green. u could put in grass like zora said to make it look like a swamp
biscuits live long and prosper
Well i did this when i was bored, waiting for a few models to dry...
I painted a base chaos black and after a few seconds painted in some snot green. I brushed it around until it was mixed slightly but still discreet colours and it creates a kind of "toxic dump" looking water....
