I have given my Genestealers a nice bleached bone/skull white coloured skin HOWEVER for the cracks in the carapace , behind the shell and on their claws Im thinking of doing graveyard earth, but Im now thinking that will come out too dark. I tried mixing some white into it but it didnt turn out too well. Would thinning the paint down work better?
I think that thinning down your paint may your best option. Graveyard earth on it's own is quite strong and I imagine is overpowering your bone/white. A thinned down version will be much easier to work with I think. I personally use black to shade my Tyranids but I paint my Tyranids purple so I can get away with it. I'm not sure what end result you want on your Genestealers. If you want them to look like the ones in the codex then leviathan purple may be quite good for them.
