so in honor of our brand new codex, i'm finally finishing my space marine army. I started with black templars, but once i maxed my armylist out (got like 5 possible choices for everything but troops... which are maxed out... completely) i hungered for more marine goodness, so i happened upon the blood ravens. cool fluff, awesome scheme, to die for traits, all i was looking for in an army. then college started, and everything got put on the back burner. as of now i have more free time (an unheard of thing for an architecture student here at good ol' NJIT) so i've bought the new dex and desire to finish my SM, i reworked them, so now they are just my generic DIY chapter. so without further ado here are my marines
the fluff can be found here: The Crimson Talons (oh please comment on my fluff writing skills!)
cool, what colour scheme are you going to be using?
i have always been a fan of TH/SS Terminators, and now with the news rules they are nearly impossible to kill!
nice axes (is that the correct plural form?), where did you get them from?
Will you be picking up some Sternguard then as part of Pedro Kantors special rules? I am interested in seeing how well they hold objectives.
what kind of red and what kind of white? because i know that the only difference between your colour scheme, and that of the Blood Ravens, is that the Blood Ravens have black on the raised part of the shoulder pad.
keep the two colours, as they complement each other well, but maybe paint the hands white as well? merely a suggestion.
@ combat engineer: actually those marines are my sternguard, i plan to use scouts and sternguard in my 2000pt list (it fits well with my fluff) then maybe add some normal marines as backup objective holders, i currently am going for 2 sternguard squads split into combat squads, and 3 infiltrating scout squads armed with snipers, with the dev and thunderfire as backup i think the army will pull together well, espically with pedro and one sternguard squad comming down in their DP first turn (MUHAHAHA )
@ luke.noorda: this is the color i'm going for (more the red on the termie then the marines' "brownish" color)
from left to right: Crimson Talon Marine, Crimson Talon Veteran, Crimson Talon Honor Guard/Command squad... and a Crimson Talon Terminator
Well thought. I like the colour scheme, though I would use that brow/red on the Terminators for the entire army. It really stands out.
I have played a few loyalist and traitor marine armies, but lost interest or was miffed by the rules changes. I concentrate mostly on Death Koprs of Krieg now, but the new codex has put me back into the breach again. So am making the Ultra Marines 2nd Coy. I have been trolling the boards on different sites to see what everyone recommends/ hates/ suggest for the new units. Sterngurad seem to have a place in a lot of minds and hearts right now.
