I have a Imperial Guard army, however small. I have a few heavy weapons and I want to put a ring of sandbags around the edge of the base, sort of like the heavy weapons squads in the Dawn of War game. However, I cant seem to find any to buy and I dont know how to go about making them. I really dont want to use Green Stuff, but if thats the only way to do it, I will.
Anybody here know where I can get them or how to make them easily?
Look up "Tamiya sandbags" they are 1/35th scale and work well for 40k.. Plus They are Really Really Cheap...
Otherwise sculpting will be your best bet.. I think there is a Tuturial on this Very site if it comes to that... sculpting sandbags doesnt have to be very daunting they are infact just big wet heavy pillows...
Hope this helps
Yeah, that does help. A lot actually. I think Ill give you a rep for this. And that your one of the less smug people Ive dealt with when asking where to get something.
if you wanted lots of custom stuff, with a little effort you could use the bandage like paper mashey to cover little shapes outta green stuff or clay, prime and colour accordingly.
most chewing gum is the correct shape and with the extra bandage layer would make great sandbags.

Yeah, that could work too, but I like Souless's idea better. All I have to do for that is slather glue on the pieces and slap them together, which I am very good at. Damn near glued my hand to the table once. Dont ask.
Thanks, Ill probably need it. Ill post pics of my entire army when im done modeling and painting it. Unfortunately, youll probably have to wait a few months, possibly into next summer to see them. Im a very busy man, with school and girlfriend and all.
