Ok, anyone seen any conversions or have any ideas for what I could use to convert models into Chem-Dogs? The most trouble I see is with their inhalers. Anyone know a way to do this? I'm thinking of starting with the new Plastic Cadians as a start (I'm giving them scavenged Carapace armor).
So let's get started!
i would start with the Armagedon style IG :w
'It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees'-Pancho Villa
'You're not to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it'-Malcolm X
Problem with that is, they are all metal and difficult to convert en masse. I'd rather work with plastics.
Come you guys there is easier way than this... there was a "big" modelling part conserning the chem dogs in "chapter approved" 2003 and 2004.
Have a look there before you do any drastic disastrousshopping sprees.
In those pages they used old necromunda models, cut off their heads replaced them with the rebreather style chaos terminator head and then just streached a coil of guitar wire to represent the breathing hose...
Have a look in those books, they give a much better description than I am able to.
Yeah but don't use the CA technique... having to get hold of loads of Chaos Terminator heads seems rather expensive to me... I would use Catachan and Cadian minis and convert them heavily...
Cut the tops of their heads to get rid of their bandanas (you could leave a few of them on to create diversity...) and make a cool rag for their shoulders from green stuff. The chem-inhalers could be sculpted from green stuff too.. Can't really think of another way... Finally, get hold of the different types of backpacks from the Necromunda range... they make good loot sacks...
But stay away from the CA method... looks very expensive...
Here's a few pics of Savlar minis... just in case you've only seen the drawing in the Codex:
Thanks for the replies, this is more like it.
Well just as easy I imagine...
Thanks for the tip cause I'm like considering starting them too...noly just not yet
Yeah, it's a cool theme. I can't decide between them or Harakoni Drop Troops. The drop troops would be much easier to convert, but the Chem-Dogs are much more impressive (Read:expensive).
Those Chem-Dogs are some badass models...
Use cadians then gas tanks from either the flame throwers that come in the cadian sprues or use gas tanks from setnal heavy flamers and cut of the bottom(kind of expensive but looks good)
