I just started witch hunters so i was looking through forge world for stuff i could use whe i came across this badass techpriest, I think i could convert it to an inquisitor if i clip off or file down the tech adept sigils and replace them with inquisition ones, I have a picture posted below, what would you think, please say...
Only through martyrdom can we earn respect.
thatwould look awesome. whether or not itd be easy, thats a different question. resin is a bit*h to use, its a carcinogen if you breathe in the powder from filing, and its quite brittle so it can snap and break easily. out of the three (metal, plastic and resin), ill call it the hardest to work with by a long way in terms of conversion. so that little thing of removig the mechanicus icons can turn into a mission that may involve the repinning of several pieces. but, as i said before, itd be awesome if you did it right
Dear All Concerned,
Technically, he could be an Inquisitor just the way he is...
You are not your avatar. You are not your knowledge of the rules or your last article. You are not your post count. You are not your rep. You are not your title. You are not your blog. You are not your painting or modeling skills. You are not your location, rating, profile comments, friends or armies. You are not your signature.
There are a few areas that you will need to remove, the axe back has a mechanicus symbol on and the chest does too. The other area of concern is the back, which has a back pack with to sections for the claws to fit into, which may be a problem if you do not wish to use them.
In my opinion this is not the case. I have worked with quite a few resin models frm the FW range (dreadnaughts, fighters, infantry models, tanks and titans) and I have found they are brittle, but in no way is this a hinderance to the modeller, you should always take care when filing the model.
Also, the resin is not carcinogenic itself, if it were FW would have labeled it so, great build ups of any substance in your lungs will put you at risk. It is however not a brilliant thing to have stuck inside your lungs. Wearing a dust mask is a good way to avoiding this along with wet filing. Filing the items when damp or submerged will greatly reduce the chances of dust making its way into your lungs and can be easily disposed of.
