Here we go guys, my first every conversion post! *Cheers for himself*
Basically the conversion idea came from a thread that I saw on 40k Online that took a Tactical Marine and mashed him up with a Termi. It was such a cool looking model that I decided to do a whole army based of off them.
However, I don't have too many miniatures at the time (as I'm just starting to get back into 40k because of 5th Edition), but I took what parts I had lying around (including the Termis and SM Captian from AoBR) and started cutting away.
Here's what I came up with:
Commander Base 2.jpg
Commander Base 3.jpg
I think I'll be using this model a Space Marine Captain in Artificer Armor. The half-Tactical Marine, half-Terminator Armor makes for a good Artificer Armor look.
And yeah, that's a dead Genestealer he's standing on.

Ha! A nicely squished Genestealer!
The conversion looks pretty good, but from the photo it looks as though you could touch up the Marine's right shoulder-pad a bit.
You could drill out the barrels of the storm bolter too, if you're so inclined, but then again not everyone has a pinvice or the inclination to use one... and it may be a tad hard now that he's stuck together.
The pose is quite good, too, and makes me think it should come with this caption;
"Right, finished with you, ya little blighter. Now, who's next!"
Right shoulder. Do you mean from my point-of-view or the models?
Oops, forgot about the SB. Guess I need to go find my pinvice. I have absolutely no idea where it is... I could use a knife if I needed to, I guess.Sweet! Cause that's exactly what I was thinking when I modeled him."Right, finished with you, ya little blighter. Now, who's next!"
From the model's point of view. On the arm holding the Storm Bolter, incidentally. It just looks like there's some kind of raised line there that he could do without.
And now I'm even more impressed with the pose; It conveys exactly what you were thinking! (At least to me... though maybe I'm just psychic! )
I touched both up for good measure; and the shield on his left shoulder, too. Thanks for pointing the right shoulder out, it made me notice some other lines that needed to be smoothed out. From the model's point of view. On the arm holding the Storm Bolter, incidentally. It just looks like there's some kind of raised line there that he could do without.
Question: I'm assuming that eBay would be a good way to acquire Terminator and Tac-Marine bits, correct? Or is there another, better, way to get these pieces at a relatively low price?

OMG that is the most inspirational conversion i've seen in a long time! I like simple conversions (i.e. without icky greenstuff and/or a range of different miniatures as long as my arm) like this one, and i've got all these parts, just never thought to put em together! And the pose really suits it. Good on ya.
P.S. I agree with Deadstar, i can totally imagine him on the battlefield pickin out another victim
It looks great! Make sure you tell people what sort of armour it is though or some of the more stringent rules-lawyers may cry foul play.
Great idea and nice look for the marine though, I think this is how I will do Pasanius if I ever get around to starting the 4th Company for my Ultramarines!
i like him just one little issue... the arms look to big for the torso... the body just looks too small for his arms, i think you could up the porportions of the torso a little bit just to even out his size a little, other than that i LOVE him
For a long time mecha fan like me, I love the proportions that the terminator armour gives in comparison to his body and head two thumbs up from me! (b^^)b Never liked back banners ("shoot me I'm important!") but that's just a personal preference.
And the genestealer? *cackles* die, bugs, die xD
Iron Swords 3rd Company - We are the swords which reap the bodies of our foes.
Train of thought will be terminating at.. edible murder weapons!
I actually like this conversion. It is simple and effective with no fuss involved. Good job.
Basically life sucks, there is only war and you're probably gonna get eaten by Tyranids, have fun.
