Nothing special here really, just getting used to the whole posting of conversion with steps and pics and stuff. I REALLY love converting!
OK I went to GW today and got me a Dark Elf Assassin to convert into a Dark Eldar Archon. REAL easy since they're the same thing, just in different worlds. And anyone will tell you the Dark Eldar Archon model is garbage. I wouldnt use it even if I was paid to.
So here's the sucker on my stool fresh out of the blister pack:
I don't have a good file at the moment so I had to use a big chunky one. Did an ok job getting rid of all that hanging metal and crap. Thanks to WYSIWYG, the model needs to have a Splinter Pistol on the model (since it would be equipped with one). So I got a Dark Eldar Splinter Pistol in the holster from a Ravager sprue, cut off the handle and filed it down so it would fit on it's leg. There really wasnt anywhere else to put it. If anyone asks, the rest of the pistol is underneath his ninja cloak:
I then took a 40k base from my nephew and glued the Archon into the base. I left it in a position so the base was level, lit up a smoke and let it dry for 5 minutes:
And it's done! Here's some pics of my new Dark Eldar Archon ready to spank an Orky Deffkopta:
Too easy! I've got more Dark Eldar conversions coming up, including a Haemonculus on a Jetbike and a Ravager with its guns in an interesting place (not THAT place you funboys).
Looks good. I don't play dark eldar (sorta obvious), but this is the sort of model I'd buy just because it looks "cool". Keep up the good work.
Let the world-wide spanking of deffkoptas begin!!!!!
