whats the best way to make tyranid capillary towers
I was thinking about that this morning. I was thinking of a dowel capped with some PVC piping for the top, Take some cardboard bent at a 45 degree angle for the carapace along the side, and then fill the interior with expanding foam.
Well there is a tutorial on youtube somewhere, I wasn't going to search cos I'm lazy but its always good to help out the newer guys...

Personally I think thats too simple, if it was me I'd have my towers way more angled with hard edges at the back like armour plates.
You could try to mix some toilet roll (unused) with PVA glue and water. The effect is a big tub of sludge. This sludge can be lifted out in chunks and then squeezed into whatever shapes you need. It needs to be squeezed or it will be too watery and not hold it's shape. Whatever shapes needed can be made and the PVA and paper will give it a fairly organic feel. Four or five sections could be made each one getting smaller so they taper towards a tip. These can be dried, takes a few days at the earliest to dry. Once dry they can be glued together into a big Tyranid tower. This method may not make the whole tower but it may help you along the way.
