Well, as requested in the 'TooFar?' thread in general, I am submitting pictures of my yet to be painted (and yet to put grit on the base) Shas'Vre proving that not only orks can get stompy.
More to come as i finish the rest of his unit .
The theme is basically a 'modelling arms race' with a friend of mine who thought that lynching Tau would be a good morale boost for his Imperial boys, so our modelling focus on the few themed bases in our armies has turned to portraying the other's armies demise (down to colour schemed corpses and dying infantry).
I hope you enjoy my less than professional conversions, I know I enjoy making them.
Haha, I love it! I do this too with eldar (I play the dark kind, many of my friends have the less interesting variety).
It looks awesome! The only thing that could possibly improve it was if you made the guardsman look a little more squished...
Also, out of curiosity, what's the stuff you've used on the base? I tried using Fly-screen on a scenic base, and it started to fall apart where I'd cut it. Your stuff looks much sturdier, though, so it might be a better idea if I try something like that again!
If I recognise it correctly, its from the 40k basing box. Its pretty useful actually, I've found it invaluble for all sorts of little useful items such as damaged helmets, rubble, sheet metal, etc.
Yep it is from the citadel basing kit, which I have been using for my whole army, that thing just keeps going regardless. I need to add sand and grit to it to build up rubble, making it look as if the guardsman is being pressed into a pile of broken concrete/debris, which will help with the squishy, but i didnt imagine that the crisis pilot would just smear him into the ground, instead offering the chance of surrender and delivering the killing blow when he sees the guy going for that grenade.
Love it! I do the same sorta stuff with my 'nids and Guardsmen, too. (Big Fexy dragging the dead/dying slightly eviscerated guardsmen, a sentinel standing on a 'fex head it just sawed off...)
I like this. You should your friend to put some of his stuff up, too.

Okay, so now I have no signature. Great.
More pictures coming soon, hopefully an in-game shot of the entire Burning Eye team - I feel the need to smelt some space marines .
I will get onto my partner in crime and get him to get his lynched Tau up and ready for viewing .
Pictures soon (painting will wait till uni lays off giving me coursework unfortunately).
