Welcome to Librarium Online!
Okay, so after not having painted a single mini in over 7 years I finally started again.
This time even attempted to highlight, use washes and properly base the mini's.
I'll post some full squad pictures later but first the fashion dilemma:
banner or no banner?
I planned to have 4 full 10 man tactical squads with custom banners and fluffy names,
but after fully painting one squad I'm not so sure about the whole banner idea anymore (might look good when all 4 squads are painted, but for now it feels like 1 lowly sergant is trying to upstage some HQ choises that don't even have their own banner :p ).
Any feedback would be appreciated on the paintjob/banner situation.
Ps. just noticed the small silverish line on the neckguard below the chin, gonna check into that when I get home from work.
I personally think your banner looks awesome. Is it made with green stuff or something as it looks molded? I'd love to hear how you did it. I also dig the highlights on the power fist.
If you went with all the sergeants having a banner I'd keep them uniform in design but have the captain's be unique, with personnel heraldry or some such.
Anyhow, rep for you for your cool mini.
Magnetize it! I did that on one of my terminator sergeants and it works fine.
Currently painting the Waaagh! of Warboss Borboss - Goff and Evil Sunz warband
Thanks for the feedback guys much appreciated.
Chardun> The banner isn't greenstuffed, it comes from the forgeworld imperial/crimson fist icon set and I love that sprue. (the Typhoon in the back of the pic uses a fist icon instead of an Imperial Eagle on the bonnet (Heresy?)).
And as promised here's the rest of the gang:
Currently doing a 2nd Tactical and a squadron of 3 landspeeder Typhoon/HBolter.
I seriously had no idea that sticking with it and actually finishing a whole unit so it looks somewhat decent could be so satisfying
wow, I love the models. Great for coming back into the hobby and doing a paint job like that.
Well done. In my opinion I think the banner should stay on looks great.

WIP tau project coming soon.
Keep the banner, looks really good to me. I've got to say, amazing work for a first go in seven years. O_O The bases are really impressive, too! :]
It would be a shame to waste such a nice banner. I think the best solution would be to make even better banners for your HQs so that the sergeants don't show them up.
Also, nice looking Crimson Fists you've got going.
