Can you guys plz give me some help here. Im a novice painter and im trying to stock up on the must have paints for tyranids. I have alot of the basics, but please list what i would need for washes, highlights, inkwashes, coloring of bases, and the right color for the sand im going to put on my models bases. My paint schemes are http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...8-my-nids.html . Please tell me what paints i need to make them look better. Also they dont have to be citadel paints. Thank you!
Here's the summary of my Tyranid blog with a list of paints used
The Paynes Grey I referenced is from Liquitex, the same company as the Raw Umber.
What do you want to do with your basses? Cant tell you what colors you will need if you don't have a general idea of what you want your basses to look like.
First Wash you models in Leviathin Purple.
Drybrush the blue areas with enchanted blue- When I say drybrush I mean drybrush- you should be able to gently rub the brush on your hand and the raised lines on your paalm will turn a little blue.
Drybrush the red areas with Blazing Orange, again with only a little color.
you will want to go perpendicular to the rececess--don't go down in them.
this will take patientce and a practice model to perform nicely, but it works wonders.
Son't worry about blending, it all looks the same from three feet away
