    Building Mechanicus Knight

Ok here is the first post on this.

Will be purchasing stuff later this week and will keep this thead going.

Before I get started wanted to ask a couple of questions.

I have pretty much worked out the legs, torso and arms (in my head) and know what I am going to use for each.

However a few things I am confused on.

    1) Head not sure what to use for this, is there anything about (thinking mechwarrior range) that does mech heads or shall I greenstuff the whole thing (my skills are ok for smallthings).

    2) Door/hatch, was sat in work today and thought "how the hell does the rider get in", I guess a door on the side or a hatch on the head....your thoughts would be great.

    3) weapons. Thinking back to my epic (titan legion) days I think Knights had a Volcano cannon and sword? Am I right on this?

    Any input would be helpful.

Oh where do you can plasticard (I think thats what its called) in the UK?

    Re: Plasticard in the UK.

I find mine in Modelzone Model Shop, Model Cars, Helicopters, Planes & Boats, Die Cast Models, Scalextric - ModelZone

There is a store locator to see if you are near one.

There is also a model train shop i know that sells it and textured Plasticard too.

Right ordered up the parts today so they should be on the way

Can someone post some pics of the epic scale one from the front side and rear? Preferably next to a warhound?

For the head, check out a toy store for toy robots, mecha, walkers, etc. Could be GI Joe, Star Wars, TMNT, any old thing. Use your 'converting brain' when you look at these things. It might even be that no-brand cheaper toys are easier to pull apart, add plastic to etc. Even if you don't find the exact style of head you want, you could use a skull or robot head as the basis for your greenstuff and plastic card.
    Just my $0.02,
    cheers,

Thanks for the input, am I dreaming or was there a company that made kits for the Mech Warrior stuff?

Also is it possible to bend plasticard? I guess if I heat it up it will bend....

    Got some pics of knights

I've actually been thinking of doing this same project. I'm not really happy with the way people are using Chaos Defiler parts, so I was going to start with PVC pipe.

As for the head, I think a sentinel cockpit would work fine. If you build a cover for the top, and cover the gun port so it looks just like the other side, it should be fine. Put a grille on the front and it would look a lot like the pic above.

I'd never seen the whole list of epic scale knight models they made!

Have you guys seen the Cardboard cutout plans to make a wolfhound titan?
Some of the constructed pieces could be useful for the project.

Ill try to find the link
