I am trying to come up with a model I can part out, or even a non-Warhammer bit idea for the Seismic Hammer on the Ironclad Dread. Now I do not see that GW makes one and neither does Forgeworld so I am gonna have to try an make the conversion. I have done alittle marauder/warriors parts changes and a small bit of greenstuff work on some cloaks/hair. I have not built anything like a dread arm yet though.
I am figuring I can easily use half of a standard CCW arm, but I am having problems coming up with something to work for a hammer+meltagun hand. Any ideas/suggestions for the conversion would be much appreciated. Or if this has already been covered a link to the topic would work, but I looked through the first 8-9 pages here.
The Chaos Marine Dreadnought comes with several options for it's weapons. One of them is a big hammer thing as a dreadnought close combat weapon. That hammer might work as a seismic hammer, I don't actually know what a seismic hammer is. This Dreadnought hammer may only have been possible to buy in mail order, that is until they removed buying components and replaced it with bits, (smart one, stop people buying stuff, death to profits!). I don't think the Chaos Dreadnought in the stores will have this hammer. You could try ebay.
something like this
I would cut off the fingers on the ccw, drill a hole down it andput a brass or plasticard rod down it. Then make the hammer out of whatever you can find. Then for the melta. SM meltagun cut before the handle. cut off the barrel. glue the bottom half slightly below the hammer and put the barrel in by making a groove that can put it half under the hammer. have the barrel sticking out a little. Garnish with some eched brass symbols and you have yourself a sisemic hammer.
Note: do not glue it to the body so it can swing up and down.
It is unclean!!! Blasphemer!!
