right, im going to make a lizardmen army (big surprise there, who isnt going to these days =P)
im just having a bit of trouble with the bases, i dont want to have the regular sand with a bit of grass basing (which, untill now, is mostly what i've done lol)
a mate of mine suggested aquarium plants, as they also look a bit like jungle plants
i was just wondering if anyone else has some idea's as to make small jungle shubbery on bases
oh and maybe big plants for scenery ^^
im a student so i dont have too much money, so cheaper is usually better =P
MEAT IS MURDER, And murder tastes pretty good! :D
Well, the aquarium plants are a good place to start! They arent expensive and could be easily cut down to make small bits on each base.
May I suggest doing the odd plant on the units bases and having the rest on a stone floor? Like temple flooring. You could make a simple design out of greenstuff and make a stamper for it, then do all the bases like this. It would look very cool!
When I based my Lizzies, I went to the local Model Railroad shop. There are various makes of flock that cost a heap less money than the GW ones, with a HUGE amount of variety. I bought some that was made to flock model trees. It's large green "blobs" - if I recall correctly, it was supposed to be O-scale Green Apples (can't recall who made it, threw packet away about 2 years ago). The two biggest manufactures are Woodlands Scenics and Noch. There might be local suppliers depending where you live - here in SA there is a company called Scenics South Africa which makes cheaper versions.
Good luck, and post pics once done.
