Well, starting to looking at how to paint my WoC. Tzeentch being a favourite god, I'm kinda looking at how to paint the buggers. I was thinking of a very dark armour (possibly black, not set in stone though) with a blue hue to it, but I've got no idea how to go about achieving that Another possbility would be a light blue tone for the entire armour, but not sure how well that would work or what to contrast it with. Please bear in mind that I'm still relatively new to painting, but know the basic techniques and striving to improve
Most obviously, prime them black. Then, with dark blue + black, drybrush the edges of their armor, and try to blend it in with the standard black in the middle of the armor piece. Should be pretty straightforward and/or simple.
Tzeentch is often seen in colours such as purple and blue. A strong contrasting colour works well with Tzeentch. Yellow or bright green can work well to lokk odd and Tzeentch-like. If you want black armour with a blue tint there are a couple of things you can do. Mix up a pot of paint which is one tenth black and the rest is midnight blue. You can add a little more black if you want it even darker. Don't forget to mix it up well. Thsi when applied will seem more or less black but with a hint of blue. You can then use midnight blue as a highlight.
Another thing you can do is to drybrush midnight blue over black and then very lightly drybrush enchanted blue over that. then give it all a blue ink stain. The effect will be that the different blues are darkened and merged somewhat.
Thanks Leech, will try those 2 methods, see which one I like best Also, thumping through the new issue of WD, I noticed the WE on page 101, the one in black armour with light blue highlights, gonna try and produce that effect as well, see how it looks on a warrior instead of on a little girl. For those with that copy of WD, is the blue highlights simply lighter and lighter highlights? Or did they mix in some other colours, like white and/or turqouise?
