reason being i want to do some converting for warhammer fantasy. i really like some of the lotr models i think WH models are 25mmm right? what size are lotr miniatures?
Could have searched for it. Heres a very old thread about scales.
Please and for the love of god dont resurrect it.
Well that link goes nowhere... Cant seem to find anything convincing when I search for myself.
If its an old topic perhaps it needs new discussion, anyway we're talking about lotr in relation to fantasy specifically.
I don't believe gaming figures really fit to any exact scale but I found 40k and fantasy would be anywhere from 1:48 to 1:60 scale. Lotr seems to be slightly smaller so I would say it sits closer to 1:60. They would still work together, there is only a minor difference. The old barret scale guide like 25mm etc doesnt really apply to warhammer anymore since the figures have increased in size. 25mm used to be 1:72 scale which is warhammer obviously isn't.
The Lotr figures are actually more anthropomorphically correct than warhammer which is more of a heroic scale (short and bulky).
I reckon some of the lotr figures would be great for conversions. I've always been put off by the stupid legal rubbish that makes it ilegal to use lotr models or parts in 40k tournaments etc. Guess theres nothing stopping you for private and friendly use. Good luck.

Cervantes: In order to attain the impossible, one must attempt the absurd.
The link works, and it discusses warhammer scale very well, but I could be wrong but there is very llttle on lotr on it and that was the question...
