I had a brainstorm the other week and realised that sticking Hammerhead Ion Cannons upside down make fantastic looted Kannons and Zzap Guns. Consequently I noticed that upright Tau RailGuns make funky looking Lobbas similar to the artillery stations in Battlefield 2.
However I need to paint them up to look like Looted Tau Artillery so I'll start off with the traditional gold/yellow Tau colours, but how can I paint them to look Orky or Gretchiny without making look too messy?
red stripes, and an ork glyph
this has been done many many many time before...
some examples (the best one I reckon):
for painting, id suggest you look around, if you want to know how not to paint messy than practice. IMHO I think rather than asking how to paint something you go search up for something, instead of painting the gun orky, paint it tau, then glue plates or whatever and paint them whatever colour.
hope this somewhat helps

Thats a bummer that its been done before.........I thought I was been unique! I like the gretchin on the models! Ain't got any wheel bases so I'm going to leave those out, however I should have some spare guns and trukk bits I can glue on.
...that blue gun is... splendid
