A few weeks ago i posted up my work in progress giant, well i've finished at last!!!
Well alright i say finished i've not finished the base yet.
My photography skills suck by the way.
Anyway, i looking for ideas for the 'Blue' trouser leg. I'm thinking maybe freehanding some bretonian style symbols on there to annoy a mate of mine. Any ideas?
I LOVE IT!!! sooper awesome giant convertion and it turned out great.
for the whole bretonian pants thing what did you have in mind sounds interesting
(also why would it bug your mate?)
Because he's a bretonian player??? lol. I like making trophies out of peoples armies when i beat them. I've already got the rotten remains of his Damsel crucified to my Warshrine. It kinda builds up a story for the army, where they've been who they've killed etc...
I dunno, make it look like a banner, so whack on some Fleu de lis (how the hell DO you spell that???)
Some scroll work or something, Ack i dunno thats why i was asking =P I don't want there to be to much on the trousers or it would just be to 'busy' if you know what i mean.
No idea why his skin turned so orange when i photographed him. He looks like some washed up game show host. Anyway
I think some Brettonian heraldry would be great, just paint it as if the trouser leg is made from a piece of a large Bret. banner maybe, something like a large white unicorn etc. Hows your freehand?
PLAN CLAN MAN!!
He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man- S. Johnson
I love it! Is this based off the new GW plastic giant? He looks really good. I'd love to see the WIP of this mini.
ok so know that i get what your looking for i would suggest something big like that would be the main focus of a banner such as a Fleur de Lys, a unicorn, dragon, or griffin
probably more tward the side of his leg (being stitched to the other fabric would put the front not straight foward)
a Fleur would probably be easiest(relatively) compared to other things...i think.
but yeah i think thats a great idea! your army sounds like its got a lot of character and well done if on par or close to that giant.
Cheers Coorran ((I'm English and therefore against anything 'frenchy' ))
King Ulrik, It's actually based on ALL the giants, Its the new plastic giant head with a sculpted beard. The Toso and arms are from the Metal giant from 2000 and the legs are from the old marauder giant. Theres work in progress pics in my blog
My free hands alright, not done any in ages but i'll give it a go
