Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ive recently primed my models black and had a few questions. Im not the best painter in the world, and read up abou the dipping method.
Would this work on black primed models and how would it texture?
Also if i did change the base coat would spraying the model one more time make it look like crap?
1. you can always spray a lighter primer over the black. Make it heavy to cover. At two primer coat it should not look bad.
2. Dip the figures in simple green for a little while, five minutes and use a tooth brush. Now you have a nice clean figure to work on.
The dipping method i believe will work best on a lighter basecoat. I doubt it would have the same effect on a black basecoat.
You need to be careful with re-priming as you are running the risk of blocking out details. Maybe some-one else can give you a bit more insight into this as i've never attempted to re-prime a different colour.
So would a second coat of primer mess up details? Is there a special kinda of spray paint I can use which covers up black easily, so I dont have to over spray it? Im pretty sure two coats of primer wont cover up detail.
