The snow looks realistic to me. I think the real thing would cover up details also. What did you use for the ice?

Wow, those are pretty amazing. That's exactly how it looks after a heavy snow fall. I wouldn't worry about the loss of detail. I didn't even notice.

Thanks, it was a lot of fun to do. This was the first time I tried making this. The ice is
made from resin.

The crystals were made using resin and dyes.
After that I cut them to size.
I'll be doing a tutorial later that will go on my blog and on the terrainthralls website.

You may feel you lost some detailing, but the snow adds so much more than I think you think you lost! Those are great!
