    My first custom terrain WIP

I recently started back up in to 40k after a few year (ok closer to a decade). I have more time now that im married and have children, so i decided in addtion to starting a tau force i would work on some terrain. Below are pictures of my first attempt. I used old model parts i had from when i was a kid (some from when my dad was a kid too). I have boxes of old model parts and HO scale train scenery to work with.

I would really appricate any suggestions. The base is a cardboard cut out of a shoe box with Elmers and sand on top of that. I primed it with black krylon primer and then tried painting the sand a brown. The brown did not take at all with only a slight bronze tint to the paint now, my lesson is prime THEN put the sand on.

That's a bunker right? It looks a bit crude but it's ok!

Now for Tau scenery you should check the online GW site for ideas...

Well i am making it mostly for a friend of mine that plays IG. It is a tractor trailer turned over with tires acting as sand bags. I am not finished i got one of the doors and propped it up to work as cover on top of the trailer.

thanks for the input though. Any ideas on ways to make it look better?

Since it's a trailer taken upside down I think the fire holes should be made cruder... Imagining that they didn't had the proper tools to make perfect fire holes!

Yes actually it is somewhat hard to make it out... But I like the effort...

    Addtion to project

I am kinda stuck on the bunker till i go to Wal Mart and get some brown for the ground. So i decided to work on my two other pieces for this. The first is a simple "parapet" for the top. It is basically the door to the trailer with to sprue's glued to it to look like steel beams.

The second is second is an ammo cart i made out of the tandem wheels from the trailer and some spare A-10 missles. I like this one a bit better.

I like it. It looks great for your first attempt at custom scenery.

Kudos to you for thinking about using something different (the trailer) as a bunker of sorts.

Keep it up. i'll be watching.
    Sho: out.

Rome wasn't built in a day, Either should good scenery.
