Ok, so i Don't have one yet. i didn't Know if this was the right topic to put this in but hey ho.
I'm in the process of trying to make a GK grand master, but i want it to be a model that stands out. anyone have any ideas for me?
any input will be much appreciated
cheers in advance
A lot of people convert Marneus Calgar, but I think High Marshal Helbrecht might make a nice base to modify into a Grandmaster. One of the best conversion jobs I've seen was from a Chaos Terminator Lord, ironically enough.
If all else fails just use Brother-Captain Stern like most everyone else does
Yeah Stern looks the part. but, not trying to sound weird, i just don't like his head. haha. sounds strange i know, but im to terrified to try and hack it off
Yeah his head is a bit... square. I made green-stuffed my BC Stern a little ninja hood which hides the squareness quite well.
Sometimes the best defense is a good offense... Wait, what?
Like dino, I converted mine from Calgar, though it was some time ago and I didn't bother even attempting to remove or hide the Ultramarines symbols on the model; with a bit of effort, it is a great base to start from. You can find a pic here (third pic down). I used Calgar's body and legs, a spare helmet I had, and the Grey Knight Terminator arms.
I'm in love with that Figure Spladge, But costing something like £27.00 for 4 plastic figures seems a bit....pricey.....considering for another £3.00 i could buy Calgar :/
Still, saying that, knowing me i may just buy him anyway haha
I'd get a plastic space marine Terminator, the GK arms and go to town - Having him helmetless means you can do a psychic hood for WYSWYG, and shaving down then building up torso detail is fairly easy. I utterly reccomend the small brassed etch F/W icons - A aquilla over a smoothed off chest plate, and little ][ symbols on leg greaves etc is just spiffy.
And shouldn' cost more than £ 10 and the brass etch. - and that's buying from bits stores.
However that F/W beast is calling to me. I wake up in the middle of the night shouting "acolytes" in a cold sweat.
