I've got a question, if you'll allow me
I've began warhammer 40 again, since quite some time, and gonna start chaos space marines. Now, I wanna make battle damage on them.
you know: an eye shot out, bullit holes, chips in the armour. white places where paint used to be, loose wires, a pice of helmed missing(and acually making a piece of skull there)
have you got any other ideas?
but more important,
How can I make my landraider battle damaged? I really have no idea...
Depends on how much battle damage you want, you could have an offset track, holes in the hull and use of greenstuff, slight chips with a modeling knife combined with paint jobs which show the metal underneath.
Good luck, and get some WIP shots up!
problem is, I'm still waiting for my forgeworld death guard convertion pack to arrive.
But I'll see if I can find a test subject.
bout the landraider, simple but effective.
Problem is, I already gleud it together. It's still standing here from 2 years ago... little dusty
So I'm gonna have to find convertions without having to destroy it...
Well..... battle damage is essentially destroying it. But, I think you could add some bullet craters in the side armor with a hand drill and a pen knife. I recall seeing recently a chaos rhino with something bursting out of the side of it, you could try the same with the LR.... there are some nice tutorials on painting paint chips, I'll PM you if I can find em.
First and foremost, welcome to the dark side . Once you've shunned the emperor and cast aside his lies, the galaxy becomes your playground.
Right, so here is a CMoN thread you might check out for simple, low skill rusting and battle damage that looks like this:
Be sure to see page 2 of the thread; it's where the technique is explained (provided by Kuffy in another thread).
In additional, I'm including some images. Perhaps they can be of help in figuring out exactly what kind of damage you'd like to create.
