Hello. This critter is my new pet called Marauder Tyrant. I made it as a smaller than normal (cheap weapons, no biomorphs) Hive tyrant. I was fun to do as often I focus on giant super-monsters and a small one was fun, now back to the big ones. It is one of the original Hive tyrants from 2nd edition. I gave it four legs from the original Lictor to make it more scorpion-like to fit in with how many of my Tyranids look. The tail is made from the 3rd edition Hive tyrant and an old Ravener's scything talon.
The four claws the Tyrant uses for arms are from the old Screamer-killer Carnifex, I have several of those lying about. It was fun to make and go back to one of the older Tyranids and paint it again, the memories. There are also a few Tyrant Guard with it that have a spike from the old Tyranid warriors added to their tails. Not much but I think sometimes only a tiny change is needed to have an effect and they are photographed with the Hive tyrant. Comments and criticisim welcome.
Amazing work, as always, Mr. Leech.
I see that with this batch of models, you've chosen to add a little more blue-green to the lobster claws. I like that very much. Very ethereal looking. Also, the Marauder Tyrant's head is absolutely horrific.

The face was fun to do. Getting expression into a Hive tyrant's face was interesting. I used progressively lighter shades of purple towards the face to bring out my pet's features, along with strong shading.
Leech, as usual you produce a great conversion and a fantastic paint job to show it off. I like it! Nice work on the talons and the legs + tail is a cool and unique addition.
Love the blending on the carapace. Thats some pretty nice modelling AND painting. Have a Rep cookie.
