    Project Impossible

    Okay Everyone!

I have a Rogue Trader Tournament upcoming in roughly 2 weeks (April 18th to be exact) and I have never been to one before, but I would really like to try this one out. However, since it's WYSIWYG, and you get prizes/points for painting etc..I have a HUGE amount of work to do in order to complete my 2k pt list.

So in 2 Weeks, I will do my best to attempt to complete this Project, which I call Project Impossible!!! I hope you could also give me some suggestions on what I might be able to do to speed things up a bit.

First, I'm going to give you my idea for my Army List.

    FAST

    Total 2002 pts.

This is what I KNOW I have to do Regardless.

    1. Scratch-Build/Buy, Paint and Attach at least 2x Power Klaws. I have 2x Lightning Claws that I'm using for my OOP Nob Bikers, I just need to attach them. I also have 1x Regular P-Klaw that needs attached to a Nob.

__ Power Klaws Built or Bought

    __Power Klaws painted

    __ Power Klaws attached

    2. Assemble, Prime and Paint 2x Ork Trukks. So far I've assembled and Primed 1x Ork Trukk

    Trukk #1 (Primed, Assembled)

    __ Painted

    Trukk #2
    __ Assemble
    __Prime
    __Paint

    3. Assemble, Kustomize (via Bulking it up with Plasticard), Prime and Paint a BattleWagon

    __Assembled and Kustomized
    __Primed and Painted.

    4. Assemble, Prime and Paint at least 20x Shoota Boyz (I also need to get 20x Shoota arms from a friend, and find the other body parts

    5. Assemble, Prime and Paint at least 10x Gretchin

    6. Finish painting and doing last minute details to Nobz, Boys, Lootas and few other models.

If I go with list #2, I will also need to do the following

    7. Obtain/Kustomize and Paint 6x more Lootas

    8. Prime and Paint 5x DeffKoptas

So, What do you guys think? Is this Project Impossible, or should I be able to get this done? Also, I forgot to mention I work 5x days a week, but usually I get off at 2pm, so I have from about 2pm-9pm to do stuff.

So, I guess nobody was interested in this? I would just like opinions on whether it's possible, or if I could find a better way to accomplish all of this.

Honestly? 2 weeks? No way in hell .

Ok, even with just glueing 'em together, basing it, modelling a little... what with having work every working day... you got a better chance of inventing a timemachine and marrying Brigitte Bardot in 1968... mh... Brigitte Bardot...

Besides, you wanna get points for painting? You ain't gonna get any points for an army rushed like that, not even orks. You can try, but i fear you will just fail and be bummed out + have a load of stuff you painted like crap.

Take your time and enjoy your models, it's not a cheap hobby!

yeah, 2 weeks, I gotta say NO WAY At least not for a quad-decent job. Maybe it'd be possible if you:

    - don't remove moulds
    - don't keep your paint within lines and have a messy model
    - no highlights, basically basecoat, wash, one quick highlight
    - no bases
    - ...and possibly more compromises

Even then, it'd be pretty hard, especially if u work/go to school. Do you really wanna "waste" so many models?

Either way, if you go forth with it, I'd be interested to see what you accomplish and how much.

If you really want to go that route you can always ask for help from friends to build or paint if you trust them enough. It would be very hard to do all that by yourself and have painted to a good standered in your eyes. Good luck to you and what ever route you choose.

    Thanks for the advice guys!!

Well. it looks like I won't have everything completely painted--because I definitely don't want to skimp on quality and end up with some crappily painted models. Because it's not like this is the ONLY tournament I'll ever go to, and I would much rather have things done the right way so they'll have a chance of winning or doing well in other tournaments.

..And that's fine. You aren't required to have everything painted, but they do seem strict on the WYSIWYG.

At the very least, though, I would like to get the Power-Klaws done, and hopefully my Shoota boyz built so everything is WYSIWYG for tournament rules. I would also like to build my Battlewagon..but I want to do that "Right" by making it larger than the norm with some Plastic-Card.

At any rate, in the past 3 days, I've managed to assemble both trukks and the Gretchin, and I've primed and painted one of the other Trukks.

So... how about this list for the next 10 days.

    1. Assemble and Attach 2-3 PowerKlaws

    2. Assemble the 17x Shoota Boyz

(both of these will be accomplished by chopping up some extra AOBR boyz that I have)

    3. Prime and Paint the Trukk and the Gretchin.

This way, worst case scenario, I can use an old Looted Wagon that I have as my 2nd BattleWagon.

That would leave some unpainted DeffKoptas, probably some of The Boyz.

Also, for the Lootas....I was planning on adding some Gun Bitz to their Flamers...but if I don't have time to do that, I may just end up running them as they are.
