title says it all. how does one go about painting on a diamond pattern onto eldar harlequins? do i make like a cutout which i lay on top and then paint or how would that work exactly?
i still suck pretty terribly at painting, my most advanced technique in my arsenal is drybrushing (go me!) so be gentle with the advice.
thanks for the help!
The way I have done it is as isitused said. Paint with the light color, and then draw the diamond pattern lightly with pencil, and then paint the darker color. Then go back and make touch ups. It is a lot of work, but with practice it gets pretty easy.

Like these fellows said, I sprayed my Harlies white and traced out the diamond pattern in pencil. I then used a very VERY fine art pen to trace each diamond and a thin tooth pick to slowly and carefully color each individually diamond.
Takes a bit of time, but looks incredible. I cheated a little bit and thew insignias on their cloaks and legs so I would have less to diamond-ify.
