Welcome to Librarium Online!
I recently came into possession of two old rhinos and am somewhat unsure as to what to do with them. I'm currently working on a chaos army and I may paint a mural on the sides and possibly the top of one displaying the glory of Horus.
Any suggestions for the other? (sorry no pictures as I'm still at work)
how about some slaughtered space marines on the rhino. Maybe have some space marine bodies tacked up on the side all bloodied with their helmets off and heads drooping down a bit. Scouts could do the trick since they aren't as "boxy". Some back story could be that they were caught infiltrating and nailed up as a warning.
Its an idea but I kinda feel that because these are 20 or so year old models (originally produced in 1988 if I recal) I think they should have a more baroque feel to them.
If I can't think of anything else I may just cover one in heavy mutations or something similarly nurgleish.
How about making them pre-heresy?
You could add plenty of extra 'tank' detail like aerials, stowage boxes, fuel drums, and a lot of small detailings with decals or painted on. Since they're true vintage vehicles, restore them to their glory days, with or without heavy weathering.
I'd be a little worried about sticking loyalist marine bodes on the tanks, as they are quite smal and a big marine would make them look even smaller by comparison. I've seen some people bulk out ther old rhino's with plasticard to make them look like they could actually hold ten power armoured warriors.
I have some of those old Rhinos. I covered mine with loads of spikes and symbols. You can do them up with runes and other bits and pieces. They look older so dried up bones work well on them. Spikes and blades work well too. You should find that most of the modern chaos bits work well on them.
yeah, go for a pre heresy or perhaps.....a like...."during heresy" army.
