Welcome to Librarium Online!
Just got my Forgeworld Nurgle Demon Prince, and I need to get some wings on him. None of the other models in the game have "nurglish" wings that would work on him. The closest are the forgeworld Tyranid warrior wings, but those are a little bit to small.
There wouldn't be anything more nurgly than a set of fly wings, but I can't figure out exactly how I should do them.
What I'm thinking right now is to do some framework with florist wire, wrap a sandwich bag around it, greenstuff that on. Then use hot glue on certain parts (the bag melting some would add to the effect).
The only problem with that would be that it wouldn't be very durable, I'd have to handle it with super kid gloves.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
Necrons : W-8 D-3 L-7 (Sleeping in their TombFoam, waiting for a new codex)
Chaos Forces (CSM/CD): W-42 D-19 L-28
Apocalypse Games : W-4 D-0 L-1 (4 Titans, Brass Scorp, 3 Baneblades, 2 Bombers, 3 Fighters, and a Partrage in a Pear Tree)
i used the zombie dragon wings for my Nurgle DP, your other option would be to look for large fly toys or science models and remove the wings.
May the "Nurgley Goodness" protect you!
As a former Tyranid player, I had the same idea... unfortunately, I never executed it since I stopped playing bugs.
However, I made some research and found some links which can be useful to you.
1 - you can use clear plastic wings from toys (here is an example, a plastic bumblebee), just paint the lines with black paint.
2 - cut the wings from blister facings, MagickalMemories from Librarium Online made his flying swarm using this technique (here is a link). However, I think that the wings would look better with a more realistic shape... afterimagedan from The Tyranid Hive posted a link to these bugs wings which can be used as a template.
3 - use "leathered" clear plastic (used in document binders). These will need some kind of plastic framework (Tyranid bits would be perfect). Here is a link to a tutorial for 'nid Gargoyles, but the concept is the same.
Hope this helps, please post some pics if you manage to complete your project!
I would completely agree with Deathklaat and use the zombie dragon wings. You could always augment them by adding almost set Epoxy to give that runny slime effect that some of the plaguebearers have.
Another route could be getting hold of the new Nurgle Blight Drone and using the hover fans.. but thats probably a bit of a stretch
Current Army Status - Chaos - 15000 points, Orks (BadMoonz) - 3000 Points - Space Wolves - 4000 Points, Necrons - 2000 Points.
You could look for a large toy Dragonfly model and use those wings? Would really give a fly feel to your model, you might find these at a toystore or something.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

Just use the clear plastic from blister packs.
Double them up if you need to.
