    BHD Guard Test model

So I thought about doing an IG army with as many Valks and Vendies I could put in with Vets as the troops choices. I thought it would be cool to do it Black Hawk Down themed. The idea was to give it the look and feel of BHD while keeping it suitably 40K ish. While I'm not sure how far this army will get I have 20-30 IG still on sprues lying around from previous army projects, so I decided to take 30 minutes and see what I could do. While I was trying out the paint scheme, I also decided that parts of the Guardsman model had to be trimmed off, namely those shoulder pads, and wasn't sure how well I could do it. Overall I like how the model turned out, but I'd like some input.

Everything looks good just you have a neglected mold line that is standing out. The scheme works and i would definitely be interested in seeing more.

I think an army like that will look really cool. If you manage to remove the pads on every model..
If you use a wash over the cloths they will get a nice shade and bring out more of the details.
Keep the paint diluted and thin :)

Yeah, I noticed that when I looked at the pics, not sure how I missed it.

EDIT: Fixed the flash, added a thinned down wash (colors are too light for a straight wash). I also thought the power cells and lagun sights were a tadd bland so I made them a little more interesting.

Used clippers to get the bulk of it off, then trimmed with a pocket knife. Turned out better than I thought it would.

I can see these being a tasking army to do a lot of, if you have to remove the shoulder pad each time. That said, the paint work is really well done, I like the camo scheme. It works really well, and I would enjoy seeing an entire army looking like this. Any ideas for vehicles yet?

I think it works really well as an IG colour scheme. Any chance you could let us know what colours you used, as I'd like something similar for my IG...

    Cheers,
    Paul
