Hey, alright so I am earging to make some Mutants for an Apocolypse list, I play Khornate CSM and I have some ideas as to the list I want to make.
1st ill let you know my overall idea. I am getting a Stormlord Super heavy for the list, as I am basically in love with that thing. lol
Ill be making the tank fairly spiky and adding some icons n such so that it isnt just a scrappy lookin imperium engine. To fit the over feel, i can just have it alone. I need SOMETHING that isnt already in the CSM book.
I also dont want to just have a tank, i want some lil scrub guys running around with it and such. Not to mention, it has a pretty good size transport capacity, so i figured it would be fun to just stuff a bunch of guys in there.
I was lookin through the old Eye of Terror book and saw the mutants, they fit the bill pretty well in terms of looks. though i am not sure if i would use those stats, or just the regular IG stats and make them look different.
Thing thats setting me back is, i dont have the 10+ dif types of models that were used for those mutants. I am wondering if you guys could help point me in a direction that could get me about 40 mutants, without getting 10 dif box sets. just doesnt seem the least bit cost efficient... lol
ty for n e suggestions
Great Idea, my suggestiosn are as follows...
The old plague zombies or Scavvy from Necromunda.
My friend uses a combination of fantasy beastmen and catachan sprues for his mutants - they look good. Apparently Beastmen did use to be able to be taken in Rogue trader...
Zombie sprues Plus cadian sprues.
Finally getting round to finshing my Tallarn Imperial Guard Army (2K)
Everything else has been sacrificed on the Altar of eBay...
i was thinking zombies would likely be a good way to start.
and i have a non modeling question, but would it make sense to use the mutants stats? or should i, sense my friend is getting the new book on... friday?, use the new ig stats for the people who dont necessarily have the mutants stats and such memorized? and to make sure no one can complain that the book is to old or anything. hah
That's what I used, and they went together fairly well.
There were a few oddities, but nothing a file didn't fix.
That was before plastic Cadians, though.
At the time, I thought the Catachan models properly hideous . . .
If you use plastic IG, get some now, before their packaging is "improved".
