where can i buy gloss and dullcoat for my metal miniatures. I know GW has some of that stuff but im just wondering if there is anything more reccommended out there because GW usually rips you off (after i realized PVA glue was just Elmers)
Look at some car spares shops or art and craft shops, these are the places you will find decent quality varnishes. Always test them out on scrap first, you dont want to go to thick or have random effects on your finished mini.
I (pretty cautiously) got a can of Tamaya dull coat, its been pretty good to me so far (they were all sold out of Testor's).
Marines - All built, 4/5 painted. Tau - 3/4 built, 0 painted. 'crons - 1/2 built, 1/2 painted.
I suck at staying on task.
I'm gonna start sounding like a broken record, but I recommed Krylon Crystal Clear spray as a finish. It's awesome and relatively cheap. I use the matte, but they also have gloss, though I can't vouch for it. Should be good. You should be able to get them at craft-stores, I also saw a lot of Krylon at Wal-Mart but can't remember if they had the spray.
I heard dullcote goes yellow after a long time in several places, so I got scared, but may not be true.
