hey guys im looking for a quick way to paint blood angels so i cn get them on to the battlefield ASAP. thanx
so just a coat of red primer and thas it????
A lot of tournaments and hobby stores require a minimum of 2-3 colors to be a legit paint job. Take as much time as you care to, because sometimes a hastily painted miniature is better left alone until the time is available to spend a little effort.
A reasonably quick, good looking paint job would be black primer, scab red armor with quick blood red highlights (the buildup of good armor is what takes a long time), throw on some bleached bone on the pads and touch up the helmet and bolter.
cheers dark for that infor
No, not just the primer i also said working up the details. So you would prime them give a wash of any kind you like and then move onto the highlights and other small details. Like darkspawn327 said its better taking the time to paint the amour color. When i paint my blood angels i go through 6 various shades of reds until i reach my final color scheme.
dam 6 coats!? thats takes alot of time......well ive only just started my army and 5 marines has taken me almost 1 month..........lol they arent even finised yet
What I tend to do is work one basic model... (The basic Space Marine, not unique figures) Take about an hour getting a decent table paint scheme down.
Once you know what it takes to get what you like, you can work a 10 man squad by hte numbers..
IE.. all 10 get the same base coat, then you move on to the next step for all 10 at the same time, and then the highlights, then the small details....
I figure that if it takes me 1 hour to do the first model to table top standards, all the while figuring out where the problem areas are, and how to deal with them, I actually cut my painting time down my about 75%..
I can do a full 10 man squad in about an hour and a half to playing standards...
As for unique figures, I tend to take more time with these as I want them to stand out more, and a unique figure takes between 1-2 hours if I know what I want, and depending on the level of details.
wow marxus ur paint must dry really qucik for u to finish in an hour or two...lol
