My Ork force is nearly 200 models strong and thus far I've managed to stay completely away from pewter models. Therefore when adding a painboy to my nobs I elected to build a plastic one rather than buying the metal figure.
The 'urty Syringe is primarily made from a crisis suit flamer. Additional details include a hand swap to include a chained weapon for those on the fly amputations, the removal of the stickbomb, and the removal of the backpack pole, which was replaced with a "scalpel." Lastly I added the head mirror out of plasticard to give him that unmistakable doctor look. The burna head is just a bit small for the aobr nob body, but I wanted him to have the cigar for the look and for medical use. Also, this head can easily be painted to give the appearance of a headband, which I felt was needed to compliment the head mirror.
Let me know what you think, particularly about the syringe. Thanks for looking and I hope it might be some help to anyone else embarking on a similar conversion.
I like it, the syringe looks really cool, nice choice to use a tau weapon for that.
I was thinking that he could perhaps use some beakers? Somehow he looks like he could use some
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

The Dutch Legion
I simply think this is brilliant, I love the way the ork is casually chomping a cigar and has a surgeon disc on his head.
Really nice touch there.
He is begging now to be painted, as am i
He looks great, love the syringe. Maybe toss a few vials on him as zema said
Marines - All built, 4/5 painted. Tau - 3/4 built, 0 painted. 'crons - 1/2 built, 1/2 painted.
I suck at staying on task.
Looks really good. I love the syringe. The only thing I'd change is the removal of the site, I don't really get that.
Great looking model! I share your dislike of metal minatures, and have myself tried to custom build similar models in place of the metal models available.
Non have turned out as well as this though! Great stuff!
I really like it its a simple conversion but its really affective, in my mind these are the best conversions

Hey mate, that is an excellent use of plastic bits. Well done to you - I really like it when people go out and build their own characters.
I really like the syringe - good work. The aiming reticule made me laugh, very orky indeed... "dis goes in dere!" The head mirror is an excellent addition also - just remember to make a small hole in the middle to make it that little bit more realistic:
I think the huge spanner in the backpack is hilarious - just what I imagine an ork doc to use.
I do think the model needs a little more to look truly dok-like though. Perhaps a green-stuff apron over the front painted so it looks blood stained. Another idea could be some Ork body parts/bionics hanging from the belt - so the doc has a good selection of replacement bits during surgery.
Just a thought. Excellent work matey. I can't wait to see it finished.
Looks great to me, and having a syringe that large totally fits with the whole Orky look. Nice job on creating a dok using just plastic parts aswell, always preferred working with plastic myself . I think he could do with an apron though, just to finish off the entire 'dok' look.
