Anyone got any tips on how to paint good tiger stripes on Smurfs? I'm trying to get a proper tiger effect orange-on-black camouflage thing going and the two test minis I've done look a bit rubbish; I've tried layering up from blazing orange to white but that's too bright, and down from blazing orange to black which looks grubby (a bit of grubbiness is good, sort of what I'm going for, but this just looks crap). Anyone got any ideas? Any links, pointers or info will get repped >_<
Start off with a Bestial Brown or something as a base and gradually mix in Blazing Orange and then some Bleached Bone for final highlights. The black is pretty easy to do, but you can highlight with a thin line of white below parts of each black stripe.
