Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well, Im still battling against Virgin Media to get my net back.
Here is the completed Tech prince, I wanted to test out the new pigment colours I have on the base, Dark mud, dry mud, industrial city dirt and light dust.
That green blod is rather mysterious, its not there in real life.....
Im painting the 4 melta boyos today, hoping to have them done by Monday. After which, the display base for the =][=nquisimunda lot and Dark elves!
That's rather cool buddy.
Nice deep red, though the base looks a little bland to me, it needs a bit of contrast to make it a bit more betterer.
Very fine though.
minus_t's painting log! Now with: More Wolves and Blue Robots!

Yup, what -t said. Love the red, but needs a bit more contrast IMO. The chestplate is a good area to add some to, as well as the base...
But rep for the awesome conversion and (so far) great paintjob!
Your Tech prince is cool. I like the end result you have with him. The red an metal work well together on him. I think the only things you could do more of is some shading a highlighting on the metal areas. I agree with minus_t that the base needs a bit more contrast on it. I think the red on the cloth is good, it looks very menacing and reminds me of the Adeptus mechanicus.
Comments taken onboard.
Ive mixed up a 'special ink' substitue since GW dropped the ink range (Grrr!) Using the remenants of my flesh wash and some chaos black, hopefully this will bring out the same effects I used to get on my Iron Warriors.
The base is actually much more coloured than it appears on the screen, the first two pictures are possibley the best to show it, when you look directly down on the model its much better. Again Ive taken these comments on board, I aim to further my painting toward a more realistic look (see FW and AFVs) rather than a super fantasy style you see in the usual GW mags. With the base Ive done its difficult to bring extra colour into it, I should have added some barbed wire, Imperial fist helemts, skulls or some sculpted bricks strewn across it too. Shame on me!
What would you think If I changed the hoods colour to Bone? A bit like the Titan tech priest below I painted earlier this year?
This Might add a bit more colour and variance to the model......
PS. -T you need to show me how to use that glaze medium properly, So far Ive had to dreadful failures with it!
No, Dan, I wouldn't change the hood if I were you. The colour of the tech priest's hood is indeed a good one that works, but I think changing it on the Tech Prince would look strange as his cloak is more obviously a one-piecer.
However, I do like that contrasting bone colour, perhaps you could add a freehand pattern on the cloak somewhere to bring in that colour by other means.
Reworked a little.
Hopefully you can see the pigments across the base a little better on this one now.
I washed the metal areas with the ink paint concoction and added the lovely hazard strip down the breacher. The bottom of the cloak wash given multiple light drybrushes off random mixes of scorched brown, graveyard earth and charadon granite to give varying dust marks.
Any other amendments?
Looking good, looking good. I'm still tempted to add something more to the front of his upper body though, to break up the red a bit and add more contrast. Some kind of freehand pattern perhaps?
