I was wondering who uses the tongue to make a very straight tip for their brushes? I know it's dirty but its worth it. GW's paints are non - toxic right?
As odd a question as this seems, I seem to remember at least two other threads about the exact same topic.
Yes, I use my tongue to get the tip - just using water then wiping it doesn't cut it.
Ick, no... I can't stand the taste of paint. When wiping doesn't work, I just dip the brush in a bit of paint and draw lines on some paper until it comes to a point.
(Let me guess, you got this idea after reading "How to paint Citadel miniatures"?)

Yes, I always use my tongue, unless I haven't changed my water for a very long time.
I do tend to use it more often than not. Why not? Well, I do regret it when I use brown ink. *Shudders* Yuck!
I use a special whipeing technique I made, that pointens the brush and also clena sit to my standards of amount of workable paint.
Its very helpful and as for the paint thing with the tongue? EWWWW Only if a hot girl asked me to!
But there are many topics like this... with PAGES long!
I only use my tongue after I'm done cleaning a particular brush and about to put it away, and then it's to preserve the tip. When I'm switching paints or in the middle of painting, I dab ome paint off while rolling the brush lightly against the palette; it has the same effect.
Marion: You're not the man I knew ten years ago.
Indiana: It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage.
For the last time, there are
NO FEMALE SPACE MARINES!!!!!
I use my tongue, you kinda get used to the taste of the paint after a while, although, I seem to put so little paint on my brush when I'm actually painting something that it really doesn't matter where I put my brush.
Oh and did I mention I have three different sizes of Fine Detail brush!
Which sometimes means a lot of brush licking to do!!
I do the same as RJSuperFreaky, I only use my tongue to preserve the tip, before I put the brush away.
You cannot win, for to fight us is to give us power.
That's a funny question, but yes I do lick my brush.
It's kind of interesting too because I didn't even realize that I was doing it. My wife walked into my painting shop one day and she says: "Did you just LICK that brush?!?" I was like nooooo.
But then I caught myself doing it like 10 minutes later.
Everyone in my family paints, though, so I guess it's just hereditary (sp?); a whole family of brush lickers. <_<
YUP!!! i do it so much that i now have a red black and white tongue!!!
if you are reading this signature, then you are wasting you're time, and i am wasting my time by writing it, so run along now, jimmy, run along.
