I've been thinking lately of converting some quad bikes for my marines. Have seen some from years ago (almost a decade, when I was still at school). Have recently just aquired all my models back after a few years (never leave your Warhammer in another country, lol) and have been thinking about creating my own chapter with their own world. Not only would quad bikes be really cool and hopefully fun to make, they'll fit in my army background nicely.
The problem now arises, I have no idea where to begin. So am hoping to get a little discussion on the go (for all our benifits, I'm nice like that!) to help with the process.
Where would you start?
First thing i would do it look at real life quad bikes and start thinking whats available in 40k to convert from. Would also look on google images to see what others had done.
Founnd this one for you looks liek he got a space marine bike and use pli card to adapt it. It looks quite simple but really effective.

Umm i've seen a painting company have ones of those and they might have a stage by stage step but not sure. Check it out at Bluetablepainting.com
Here's a guide to building a quad bike from over at heresy online

The best one I've found is this one from The Bolter and Chainsword:
The Bolter and Chainsword - Librarium - Modeling Tutorial: Quadbikes : A 40k Space Marine Resource
I used that when I wanted alternative Attack Bikes a few years ago and came across the idea for quad bikes, I've seen the ones from Heresy Online and Warseer as well but I found that one to be the best.
Aside from hating the term quad-bike I think the conversion linked looks amazing and I hope you do come up with some interesting models as well.
Some interesting ideas here!
Just thinking of one man quad bikes. My idea was just to buy a standard bike, cut away the front wheels and invert them. I have no idea how I'm going to manage to convert the back wheels though. My skills with scissors and glue is limited.
The modelling tutorial looks handy though. Will try my own version of that and see how I get on.
