I've been thinking up colour schemes for my space marine army, and im having quite a bit of trouble. I keep trying new colour schemes and i dont really like them. I quite like the idea of a pre-heresy army and i have tryed out a few colour schemes from that. I was wondering if any of you have been through this, and how you've solved it.
So guys, any help?
I'm sure you've found a scheme by now, but you could always try out the half-half color schemes, like the Howling Griffon's http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/wa...ffon_Armor.png
or on of those type. My favorite color to paint is red (nice and easy too) so you could try red with a grey trim or maybe light grey with a darkish green trim?
You could also play with main chapters like the ultramarines, but make your army the 2nd command or 5th or whatever, as each have a slightly different look
Take a look at http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/L...arine_Chapters might find something interesting!

Don't quite have the time to paint?
Check out the site - Great prices, Great painting!
my advice is that you can never go wrong with purple and black together... except on drop pods but thats a different story anyway good luck with your little colour scheme dilema it took me four years for me to come up with mine so i know how much of a pain thee things can be
Ask me about the Black and White Space Marine on the Black and White Bike!!!
Tentacle Pink and Warlock Purple
Very strange sight, but no one will ever forget your army.
Had a buddy do his eldar with this basic Scheme and they were amazing.
He called them Big Gay Al's Big Gay Eldar Sanctuary (his name was Alex, lol)
Complete with Far Queers and Warcocks...
do you have dawn of war?
if so then go into the army painter on it.
i use this for all my armies and you can get to see how the scheme works on the vehicles as well.
it also shows where the paint goes on the models which is a big help, especially for the vehicles.
