    Oh my god! A flying space marine!

    Yo fellow LO'ers.

    Got an interesting conversion for you here today. My friend converted and painted this up for our FLGS conversion contest. Its a biker that had an unfortunate meeting with a grot.

    It came in second place. It's also the bike captain for his Ravenguard army.

    On to the pics:

    There is a brass rod holding the marine up but I took it out of the picture using my shoddy photo editing skills.

    He'll be reading the comments so feedback is much appreciated.

    Cheers

    You left the shadow in though!

    I like the posing, it looks a great piece and is funny, which will make it stand out from the crowd. The paint scheme looks a little dirty and blotchy, more thin coats of paint would help a lot. Having said that, it suits the grot to look that little bit grubby, and the piece has a good ambience.

    Made me smile today (quite a feat as I'm feeling rather ill )

    The good old one two eh? I demand to know the math hammer odds of a Grot surviving a SM biker veteran w/power sword and CCW then going on to kill said biker! Someone out there must know how 'ard this Grot is ^_^

    I can see it too, if you were trying to cover up some sort of wicked activity from security tapes you would be so screwed. I like the diorama. I think the Marine does look like he has just gone flying out of his seat into the air. Though he does look sort of like he wants to ram into somebody and hack them up with that sword.

    How could that come in second? On sheer comedy value alone it should have been a winner!

    Though I though the modeller had actually used some transparent tube to mount the biker before I read your comments...

    You don't happen to have a picture of the winner, perchance?

    Haha, really? Well, there you go. A 40K diorama vaguely related to real life. I never thought i'd see the day.

    @Deadstar_MRC

    Sorry dont have a picture of the winner but it was a conversion of a Space Marine lord on a LOTR Spider body for someones Soul Drinkers army I think. I prefer the biker because it was well executed and made me laugh quite a bit.

    Cheers
