After almost finishing my tyranid army i decided to start a space marine army. Using mostly my brothers space marines I set out to create a company of my brother and I home made chapter the Warp Masters. Here you go enjoy
Im pretty happy how things turned out. Advice and suggestions would be great. Since i played nids i have barely any experience painting faces, using metal and painting cloth
By the way if anyone notices on the flag it says "Repen" not trying to plead for rep here just didnt have room for the "t" at the end

I personally hate Space Marines with flat painting. It's a great painting job all an all tbh, I'd just like to see some depth. Aka the painting Gods delivery of Wash. If you did wash then I apologize. The highlighting is great though, well placed. .
Try using felt pens or paint pens for your banners, it always helps me fit words better.
maybe its the quality of photo but he doesnt look that flat to me except maybe in the cap. Could you please tell me which parts look flat because everything has been washed
Painting pens thats a good idea do you know where i couldpick some up?

Try using a swing lamp to light the front.
Like I said, I could be wrong . It just the lighting
yeah it might be a whole lot of things sorry about the bad pics ill try to work on it but you still havnt answered my question is there parts of the captain that look really flat so i know what to improve on
The sword chest and shoulders are the main areas that look flat to me.
I can see the blue highlights and they're not bad. The face and banner look a little muddy, maybe that's just the photo but I'd consider lightening things up a bit.
Your banner made me laugh - reminded me of a poster that someone put up on the wall in our IT lessons when we were learning CAD or something that said 'ALLWAYS PLAN AHEA' (there was no room for the D). That's my only (hopefully constructive) criticism: plan ahead. My advice would be, if like me you're not so hot with free-hand and lettering, take a sharpened soft pencil and sketch out the detail before going over it with your main colour - that way it's a lot easier to plan out where everything will go and it's a damn site easier to paint too.
Alternatively, you can use a very thin paint to draft it out frist (this is handy when say, painting a skull on a black background, you can sketch it out in grey and then sort of build it up gradually).
I like him. I think the use of strong highlights gives him alot of character and it brings out his features. I think you just need to use colours that are a little closer to each other and blend them. Then the faces will look very good. I like his sword, it looks like it is important and better at chopping up heretics, aliens etc than the average Space marine sword.
Repen, Repen is a name used to describe a variety of plants that are found throughout the world. You can always say this Marine has a thing for botany.
it looks good but why not try to paint the cape a different color to off set the blue. maybe black or a dark green.
I am an Indestructible master of War.
The red on the inside of the cape is highlighted way too harshly. You should go with an orangey red rather that yellow. Also the red on the shoulderpads should be highlighted towards the rim and not the middle.
