This is my new Hive tyrant that I have converted into a scorpion-critter to lead my swarm. It took a few months working on it off and on to get it right. I found all of the details were fun to do. The tail is made from the Tyranid warrior barbed strangler gun barrels which I stuck together. I then used green stuff to make the details so it would be a multi jointed tail. The stinger was made out of an old metal venom cannon, an old Hive tyrant tail and the venom sac-thing came from an old metal barbed strangler.
The mouth has a forked tongue to help show it has acid maw, the small acid-sacs on the side of the head are hard to see, a forked tongue is also fun. The tongue was made from Genestealer acid maw tongues and green stuff to fill in where they were glued on. I gave the head extra eyes made out of green stuff as I was going to give it a gun but then I decided I didn't want one when I made the claws. The claws are from a keeper of secrets and the arms for the claws were the legs of an old metal Screamer killer Carnifex. I'll just use the claws as scything talons as Hive tyrant's can't get crushing claws.
Adding tubes to the other arms which connect to the toxin sacs was fun to do. The legs are from the original Lictor model. I also added lots of spikes and scything talons to the underside to help make it look more buggy. The flesh hooks on the chest were repositioned to make it look better as they normally point straight down and are a little dull that way. I also added lots of wee scorpions from the tomb swarms onto the base, they took enternity to cut free and broke a pair of clippers while I was at it.
The Hive tyrant was harder to convert than a Carnifex but I found it was fun. Tell me what you think. Comments, questions and criticism welcome.

Really nice looking model! I love the tail you've given it! And the paint scheme is fantastic!
Really nice work!
Looks awesome, as usual. Truly inspiring.
About twelve different kits including the Hive tyrant were used in it.
Leech, you never fail to amaze me with your bugs. They all look amazing and this adds a whole new look to them, they have to look scary and beautiful when laid out on the table top. Great work as usual!
That is bleddie marvellous, nice painting as well!
Do you have any pre-paint pictures?
For get your Mr T, John Mayer leaks pure awesomeness with every note he plays.
You know, I make things out of bits sometimes and think that they look really good/clever.... And then I come here and see the work of true artists. It blows me away each and every time.
That is some awe insipiring work.
