Okay folks here is the competition!
The contest is simple. Multiple scenery makers pit themselves against one another to find out who can make the better scenery. A classic competition to make scenery for warhammer 40k. We want this to be a simple contest, so anyone following along can watch each of our steps and copy what we make.
1. All scenery must be scratch built. Small ammounts of bits from official FW or GW are allowed, but no full kits are allowed. The more official GW or FW stuff used, the less chance of winning you have.
2. NO SIZE LIMITS!
3. All scenery Should Attempt to use the Iron Chef Secret Ingredient. One of the judges will give the secret ingredient or material that must somehow be incorporated into the scenery piece. The secret ingredient will not be an expensive purchase, and most likely something you can find around the house. Straws, empty soup can, spork, toilet paper roll, etc.
4. All scenery must be photographed step by step or at least documented with milestone pictures. This is important so we can not only determine you did not use a kit, but also, it helps those who are following along, not in the competition, to copy what we make to let them build their own scenery.
5. You must...have fun!
The scret Ingredient is:...
BOXES! A BOX! now before the nerd hands go up with questions...
A box. if you can make a BOX out of the material...then it is..*le gasp* A BOX
Foamcore cut and glued into a box. is a...BOX!
Carboard cut and formed into a box. is a..BOX!
Cereal boxes are ALREADY a ...BOX... but cut it up, tape it back together into a smaller box.. it is still a....BOX (that's right guys)
your piece of terrain must incorporate a BOX. i don't care how BIG.. i don't care how SMALL. being clever with it, and making is obvious or hidden and obscure gets you points! "A BOX" must be in or part of your scenery piece.
if you pull out the microscope and cut a small bit of paper and make 'fuzzy dice" hanging from the crashed ork battle wagon rear view mirror..tiny as it is, IT IS A BOX (and i'd make you the winner out of sheer awesomeness) but think about it..make it clever.
If you throw an ammo box beside a bunker..that's boring, meet use of secret ingredient..but boring. You make the bunker a square box..that's okay..but come on! Use your noodle...Make people HUNT for your..box..
*pauses on that sentence*...

I might join, depending on what the ingredient is. I don't have much good terrain so hopefully this will encourage me tp try my hand at making ssome more.
Good luck to all who enter, I look forward to getting beaten by every single one of you.

Good for you Arty, thats the spirit!! it all comes down to how you use the secret ingredient!
Is that good with one "O" ? [40k Radio term]
Hmmm... as long as the secret ingredient allows me to do something cool for my guard. I'm crossing my fingers for some sort of a hobby leftover like a paintpot or something. A recycling of old hobby supplies.
Kevin, do you not get all your terrain airdropped in from heaven? I do. Either that or I go to GW which can sometimes be very similar (or is that a bit blasphemous?)
Oooh, I'm being a bit risqué today.
I feel I should weigh in on this one since its the last one Ill be able to do prior to going back to college. There shall be blood,.... and pink foam and elmers glue.
